We're Supporting Gas Safety Week 2025

We're proud to be supporting Gas Safety Week 2025, taking place from 8-14 September. This annual campaign is led by the Gas Safe Register and brings together organisations across the UK to raise awareness of gas safety and the steps we can all take to stay safe in our homes.
As a housing association, ensuring your home is safe and warm is our top priority. That’s why we carry out essential annual gas safety checks in every home we manage. These checks help prevent gas leaks, fires and carbon monoxide poisoning – all of which can be life-threatening. It’s a legal requirement for you to let us perform a gas safety check, and you could even win £100!
“At Platform Housing, keeping you safe is our top priority. Our annual gas safety check isn’t just a rule, it’s a life-saving visit that protects you and your family from risk of gas leaks and carbon monoxide.” - Head of Heating and Compliance, Phil Trickett.
Why We Need Access to Your Home
To complete these vital checks, we need to enter your property. Our engineers are Gas Safe registered, always carry identification and will treat your home with respect. It’s a legal requirement for us to carry out this work, and we’ll always try to make it as convenient for you as possible.
What Happens During a Gas Safety Check?
The visit is quick – usually under an hour – and includes:
- Checking your gas boiler, meter and pipework
- Testing for gas leaks and carbon monoxide
- Making sure your appliances are working safely and efficiently
- Issuing a gas safety certificate, if everything is in order
We’ll explain everything we’re doing and let you know if we find anything that needs fixing or follow-up.
