Platform Housing has a Retirement Living Scheme of Heaton House in the rural village of Martley in the Malvern Hills district of Worcestershire. The property benefits from being within a village community and in a quiet location with an excellent hourly bus service from Martley to Worcester which finishes at about 6pm.

To be eligible you must be aged 60+ or 55+ if in receipt of PIP/DLA. 

Martley has been a popular village for retired people and professionals working in the city and the surrounding towns. It is approximately nine miles north-west of Worcester. Martley has lovely countryside walks, pubs, a village park and hall. The M5 motorway can be accessed at Junction 7 in Worcester and there are two railway stations in the City.

Heaton House has 16 self contained unfurnished apartments each with their own kitchen, lounge, bathroom and a double bedroom. Situated within communal grounds and at the centre is a delightful conservatory.  Main heating is by electric storage heaters.  There is non-resident management staff and a 24 hour careline alarm system to call in help in case of an emergency.

Available now is a one bedroom ground floor apartment that is suitable for one person or a couple.

Please note if you intend to claim Housing Element of Universal Credit or Housing Benefit there are service charges of up to £7.79pcm towards the cost of support that would not be covered by these benefits.

If you are accepted and do become a Platform Housing Group tenant, you will be offered a starter tenancy. If there have been no breaches or issues within the first year of your tenancy you will be considered for an assured lifetime tenancy.   

Please be aware Housing Benefit / Universal Credit will only pay for the property you are living in, and you will need to give notice on your current tenancy.    

If you are successful in being offered this property you will be contacted by the Lettings Officer and you will need to complete an application form. At this stage the Lettings Officer will confirm the rent and service charges.
