Community fun day raises funds for urban farm
Our annual Christmas Kindness Campaign will see us donate over £60,000 to support local specialist organisations, charities, food banks and events across our communities.
Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid is a registered charity, providing over 40 years of frontline domestic violence and abuse support services to women and children living in the area.
Platform’s Chief Operations Officer, Marion Duffy said, “Domestic violence can happen to anyone and destroys lives which is why we have donated to this vitally important charity, to help them spread a little festive cheer to the women and children they are supporting this Christmas.
“Running in the heart of our communities the organisations we support, like Women’s Aid, offer a vital lifeline to people who are experiencing daily and ongoing challenges to help them get back on their feet.”
Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid, Business and Support Infrastructure Manager Kathleen Williams, said: “We are thrilled to receive this donation from Platform Housing Group which will help us to provide Christmas presents for women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
“Christmas can be a particularly challenging time for victims of abuse but generous donations like this ensure all the families we support can enjoy the festive season.”
