As part of its annual Christmas Kindness Campaign, Platform Housing Group has donated £3,000 to local charities who are working together to reach out to families across Wychavon, who are in real need this Christmas.

The donation has enabled the Wands family hub to host a grotto to make sure that local children, whose family cannot afford the luxury, got to meet Santa. They were also given a personal gift, along with a fun board game for their family to come together and enjoy over the festive season.

The funding has also been used by Action for Children, The Salvation Army, Evesham Adventure Playground, Evesham Foodbank and local health visitors in Pershore and Evesham to ensure that children don’t go without and receive a gift this Christmas.
“It’s great that these organisations have joined together to support customers in our local communities across Wychavon, and that our donation will enable them to spread some festive cheer and support families who need a little extra help this Christmas.” said Platform’s Chief Operations Officer, Marion Duffy.

“Platform will donate over £35,000 to support local vital charities during our Christmas Kindness Campaign, which is more important than ever this year, due to the ongoing cost of living crisis.”

Families who use the local food bank have also been given vouchers, purchased by the donation, so that they can buy presents or goods to keep them warm.

Sarah Watson, Community Team leader at the Starting Well Partnership added: "This donation has really enabled all these local services and charities to come together and provide both presents and a grotto to some of our most vulnerable children and families.  Without it many children would have missed out on all this Christmas Fun."
