Our cyclists have raised more than £13,000 for Macmillan after epic 200 mile charity challenge
Colleagues, partners and supporters have raised more than £13,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support after successfully completing a demanding 200 mile charity cycle ride across England and Wales last month.
The two day challenge saw riders cover more than 200 miles through Wales, Worcestershire and the Cotswolds, tackling steep climbs and long distances in support of our Corporate Charity Partner.
The annual event brought together colleagues, contractors and partners, with cyclists supported throughout the route by a dedicated team providing refreshments, mechanical assistance and encouragement along the way.
Among those taking part were Duncan Palmer, our Head of Localities for the Severn region, who completed the 200 miles of the challenge alongside colleagues Dayne Crosdale and Alan Danby.
Duncan said: “Taking part in this year’s bike ride was another fantastic experience and one I’m incredibly proud to have been part of.
“The challenge is tough but what makes it special is the teamwork. From the riders to the support crew and everyone who sponsored us, it really was a huge team effort. Riding the final stretch alongside Dayne and Alan gave me the boost I needed after a long day in the saddle, and the encouragement from the support team throughout the event was second to none.
“Knowing we’ve already raised more than £13,000 for Macmillan makes every mile worthwhile. I’d like to say a heartfelt than you to everyone who donated, supported us and helped make the event such a success.”
The fundraising total is expected to increase further as final sponsorship continues to be collected.
We selected Macmillan Cancer Support as our Corporate Charity Partner for 2026-28 following a colleague vote. The charity provides practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer and their families.

The annual bike ride has become one of our flagship fundraising events and builds on previous years’ success, with colleagues already looking ahead to next year’s challenge.
