Here’s your guide to what happens once you’ve submitted your application:

Introductory call

For some roles, we’ll set up an introductory call, a short, informal chat to get to know each other better and to see if the role feels like a good fit.  If it does, then we will invite you for a more in-depth interview discussion.

Interview

If we don’t do an introductory call, this will be the first step. But we’ll let you know in plenty of time. It will be virtual or face-to-face. And we often include some technical testing, too. For example, if you’ve applied for a trade role, you may be asked to come along to a practical assessment at one of our homes, where you can showcase your skills. Other roles may call for a problem-solving exercise, role play, or some psychometric testing. But we’ll explain everything you need to know beforehand so there are no surprises on the day.

If your interview is virtual, we’ll send you details on how to access Microsoft Teams in advance.

Our interviews usually last an hour, and we often ask questions to help us understand your skills and experience that make you suitable for the job.

Depending on the role, you might be invited to take part in an assessment centre—a collaborative and interactive way for us to get to know you better. These sessions often include a range of exercises, and give you the chance to demonstrate your skills in action while meeting some of our team.

For other roles, we may ask for a pre-recorded video interview. This gives you the flexibility to respond to a few key questions at a time that suits you, helping us understand your experience and motivations in your own words.

Whichever method we use, we’ll make sure you know what to expect, and we’ll support you every step of the way.

Feedback

This is when we’ll let you know if you’ve been successful or not. If you’re successful and accept the offer, then we’ll begin the onboarding process.

We understand being unsuccessful is disappointing. That’s why we’re always happy to give feedback to anyone who’s been to an interview with us. All you need to do is put a feedback request in, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Hints and tips

We value individuality, so let your personality and passion shine through. Tell us what drives you and how your values align with ours.

Make sure your CV highlights the experience and skills that match the role you’re applying for. Use clear examples that show us just how perfect you are for the role.

Whether it’s virtual, face-to-face, or pre-recorded, take time to understand the role and think about how your strengths fit. We’ll always let you know what to expect.

We’re not just looking for experience—we’re looking for people who want to grow. Share your ambitions and how you’d like to develop with us.

Interviews are a two-way conversation. Feel free to ask about the team, the culture, or what success looks like in the role.

Don’t worry about having all the answers. We love people who are open to learning and ready to try new things.
