Platform Housing Group are delighted to offer these unfurnished one-bedroom upper and ground floor apartments in our retirement living scheme in Stetchford, Birmingham for people aged 60+ or 55+ if in receipt of PIP/DLA.

Colbourne Court is a retirement living scheme of 45 apartments with a 24hr alarm system set in pretty communal gardens in a quiet residential neighbourhood and within walking distance of bus stops and local shops.

Onsite facilities include residents parking and communal lounge and visiting management staff. 

These self-contained unfurnished homes are suitable for a single person or couple and briefly consist of-

One month’s rent in advance is required in advance on the tenancy start day £536.56 (our preferred ongoing method of payment is Direct Debit). Housing Benefit and Universal Credit is accepted.

If you are successful in being offered this property you will be contacted by the Lettings Officer.

Please note that if you are claiming Housing Benefit or Housing Element of Universal Credit there are some service charges that would not be covered. This includes a £1.72pcm administration charge, a £3.60pcm personal alarm charge, and a £7.85pcm support charge. A Lettings Officer can give you a full break breakdown of the charges of what is eligible for Housing Benefits payments.

If you are accepted and do become a Platform Housing Group tenant, you will be offered a starter tenancy. If there have been no breaches or issues within the first year of your tenancy you will be considered for an assured lifetime tenancy.  

 Please be aware Housing Benefit / Universal Credit will only pay for the property you are living in, and you will need to give notice on your current tenancy. If you are a current private tenant, council tenant or a housing association tenant you will be required to give notice on your current home. This is usually 4 weeks or 1 months’ notice. If you are a current tenant of Platform Housing Group, you will be required to give 4 weeks or 1 months’ notice.  You will only need to give notice if you have been informed that you are being considered/offered a property. If you have any further questions, please contact your landlord.

If you are successful in being offered this property you will be contacted by the Lettings Officer and you will need to complete an application form. At this stage the Lettings Officer will confirm the rent and service charges.

Please note all properties are unfurnished and Platform Housing Group does not cover your contents as part of the tenancy agreement. Contents insurance is the tenant’s responsibility.
