This year we have two very deserving winners who are sharing the Positive Change Award for 2025, Christine Baker from Worcestershire, and John Skeet from Gilmorton, Leicestershire.


Christine Baker
Christine Baker from Worcestershire has been jointly awarded the Positive Change Award at this year’s Community Heroes Awards. Christine has significantly improved mental health and wellbeing by voluntarily providing free art classes to residents across Worcester.
Her popular sessions, including drawing and watercolour painting, have created valuable spaces for connection, creativity, and relaxation. Christine’s dedication, despite personal challenges, has made a meaningful and uplifting difference to many lives.
Recognised for her inspiring commitment and positive impact, Christine exemplifies the transformative power of art and community spirit.

John Skeet
John was recognised for his significant contributions to community wellbeing and environmental projects, including creating communal gardens and supporting local wildlife.
Despite facing personal health challenges, John's dedication and generosity continue to inspire those around him, bringing warmth and positivity to his community.
Chosen for his resilience and kindness, John exemplifies the lasting impact of community-focused actions.
John Skeet recently passed away shortly after receiving his award. John's kindness, dedication, and lasting contributions to his community will always be remembered. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends.
