Social and Affordable Rent

Social and affordable rented homes provide safe, secure housing for individuals and families whose needs cannot be met by the private housing market. They offer long-term stability, helping residents remain connected to jobs, schools, support networks and local services. 

These homes play a vital role in addressing housing need, reducing pressure on housing waiting lists and supporting people to build stable futures in the communities they call home. 

By delivering a mix of tenures, Platform helps local authorities create thriving communities, increase housing choice and ensure more people can access a quality home that is affordable for them. 

 

Shared Ownership 

Shared Ownership provides an affordable route into home ownership for people who may not be able to buy on the open market. Customers purchase a share of their home and pay rent on the remainder, reducing the size of the deposit and mortgage required. It’s a tenure that works particularly in the Midlands, where we focus on offering the tenure via two, three or four bedroom homes 

(seperate element) Platform's Shared Ownership offer includes: 

  • Shares available from 10% 
  • 10-year repair warranty support 
  • 990-year leases 
  • The ability to buy additional shares over time through staircasing, including increments as small as 1%
