Platform complete another land-led deal

Platform Housing Group has completed another land-led deal as it continues to provide affordable housing across the Midlands and South West.

The land acquisition of the former Nortenham allotments site in Bishops Cleeve will see the development of 113 homes.  The development will comprise of 38 one and two bedroom homes and 75 three and four bedroom homes, all of which will be available as either affordable rent or shared ownership.  Construction will begin in early 2023.

Michael Baggett, Regional Head of Land at Platform Housing Group said : “To have secured another land-led deal in this priority location is a key move towards our aim of providing more good quality affordable housing in the area.  It means we control the speed and quality of delivery, ensuring fantastic homes for our customers.  I would like to thank our partners at Tewkesbury Borough Council, especially Bryn Howells, for their work towards making this happen.

“There have been many other partners too - without whom this next step wouldn’t have been possible – including Phillip Pratt at Alder King, Max Thurgood at Clarkebond, Helen Armitage at AA Projects and the team at Shakespeare Martineau, including Kevin Edwards, Anna Cartledge and Laura Taylor.”

The project strengthens Platform’s presence in the Gloucestershire area, following the land-led deal to provide 270 homes at the Perrybrook site and the construction work beginning at the Watery Lane site in Newent.
