Work has started on new homes that will give families in the Boston area more affordable options to live.

The first of the 80 dwellings at Puritan Way will be ready in April next year with more to follow in the coming months.  The homes are being made available for social rent, cheaper than private rented accommodation and typically saving families up to £5000 a year on rent.

Local MP for Boston and Skegness, Richard Tice, recently paid a visit to see the project and discuss how the homes will help families and the wider local area.

The first phase of the build – being completed by D Brown Construction Ltd – started earlier this year.

Kate Ellison, our Director of Growth and Innovation said: “It’s been fantastic to demonstrate how important delivery of affordable housing will be to the Boston area.  We have been able to show national and local government partners how, by working closely with D Brown Ltd and the community, we will be able to deliver more affordable homes and provide opportunities for future residents to have a place to call home.”

Also at the site were local council members who were shown the size of the development, the public open space to be provided with discussion on how the new community will be supported.

Councillor John Baxter, Portfolio Holder for Housing at Boston Borough Council said: “We are committed to working with partners to provide more, high quality, genuinely affordable homes for our residents.  As a result, I am delighted that we can support this development at Puritan Way, being built with the futures of local families at its heart.

“Schemes like this not only give people greater security and choice in where they live, but also support the growth of strong, sustainable communities across Boston.  I cannot wait to see work progressing and these new houses become homes.”

The first new homes at Puritan Way are expected to be ready in the spring of next year, with all homes delivered by summer 2028.
