We have secured funding to improve heat network efficiencies in Worcester and Matlock

We have secured grant funding through the government’s Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES) to support improvements to two of our residential heat networks.  

The funding, awarded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), will support an optimisation study at Himbleton House in Worcester and Denefields Court in Derbyshire, helping to identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and long term sustainability.  

The Heat Network Efficiency Scheme is designed to improve existing communal heating systems across the UK, ensuring they operate more efficiently, reduce carbon emissions and deliver better outcomes for customers.  

Paul Tucker, our Energy and Heat Networks Manager said: “We’re really pleased to have secured this funding through the Heat Network Efficiency Scheme.  This investment will allow us to take a closer look at how our heat networks at Himbleton House and Denefields Court is performing and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability and overall customer experience.  Improving the performance of our existing homes is just as important as building new ones and this work will help ensure we continue to provide safe, warm and sustainable homes for our customers.”  

The project will focus on gathering detailed insight into the operation of the heat networks, enabling us to make informed decisions about future improvements and investment.
