We have donated £750 to Soar Valley Outreach as part of our annual Christmas Kindness campaign, helping to fund essential food parcels for people in need across the local community.

The donation will be used by the charity to purchase food and supplies, ensuring that individuals and families facing hardship have access to vital support during the winter months.

Based in Leicestershire, Soar Valley Outreach is run by volunteers and plays a key role in supporting residents through practical help and compassionate outreach, with food provision being a critical lifeline, particularly during the cost of living crisis.

Bindya Mistry, our Community Engagement Officer said: “We’re proud to support the work of Soar Valley Outreach and the real difference they make in the community.  No one should go without food, especially at Christmas.  Our Christmas Kindness campaign is about recognising and backing the grassroots organisations who go above and beyond, and we’re pleased to play a small part in helping Soar Valley Outreach continue its amazing efforts.”

Tim Jackson, Project Leader at Soar Valley Outreach said: “This donation means we can provide even more food parcels to those who really need a helping hand this Christmas.  We’re incredibly grateful to Platform for its generosity and for recognising the importance of supporting local people.  It’s partnerships like this that help us make a real difference.”

A group of our colleagues recently visited the charity to learn more about its work and deliver the donation in person.
