Platform and our partners have recently celebrated the unsung heroes who live in their communities and make a real difference to others, at our annual Community Heroes Awards.

Our vision is to build a better future by investing in affordable homes, services and communities which led us to launch our Community Heroes recognition Awards in 2022, to highlight the incredible work that our customers and partners do in their local communities.

Marion Duffy, Chief Operations Officer at Platform Housing Group said, “I was honoured to have been a judge on Platform’s Community Heroes Awards panel, along with our Board member Lou Zonato and Customer Engagement Panel member Shaolan Menzies. It was such a pleasure to read through all the amazing entries and extremely difficult to choose the winners.

“In what continues to be a challenging time for so many of us, it’s lovely to say thank you to our customers and partners who go above and beyond to serve their local community.”

The Environmental Award is presented to someone who is doing their bit to help wildlife, tackle climate change or making improvements to the living environment around them. This important award was won by Pauline Goldingay, who lives in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham.

Pauline is passionate about looking after the area around her home, ensuring that it is regularly litter picked and is clean, tidy and welcoming. At 88 years of age, she is showing no signed of slowing down and is a real community hero.

Customer Pauline Goldingay said, “I’ve been litter picking for many years and even at 88 years old I still get out there.  When I open my curtains in the morning I want to look out at a nice clean and tidy view and that’s why I do it.  I can't get over the fact that I have won!  Thank you.”

Platform’s Community Heroes Awards were made possible by the generous sponsorship of the main event sponsors, Travis Perkins and the Environmental Award sponsors
Roythornes Solicitors.

Bukola Obadun-Craigs
at Roythornes Solicitors said, “We are really proud to sponsor this award and to champion Pauline. The environment is a subject close to all our hearts and we should recognise those who get involved on every level. Congratulations from all of us at Roythornes.
