Partnership brings fresh colour to Leicester retirement scheme

Residents at Church Court in Leicester are enjoying a freshly decorated communal lounge, thanks to a partnership between ourselves and Hankinson Whittle.  

The redecoration, completed earlier this month, was delivered as part of property maintenance company Hankinson Whittle’s social value commitment, under its decoration contract with ourselves in the East Midlands.  

The company generously donated both materials and labour, with one of their professional painters volunteering time to transform the space.  

Our colleagues also joined in, volunteering alongside the contractor team to give the resident’s lounge a welcoming new look.  

Luke Mulliner, Contracts Manager at Hankinson Whittle said: “It’s been fantastic to work with Platform on this project and to give something back to the residents at Church Court.  Our partnership is about more than just delivering services, it’s about creating spaces people can feel proud of.  The social value we generate through projects like this really helps to make a difference in local communities.”  

Bindya Mistry, our Community Engagement Officer said: “We’re so grateful to Hankinson Whittle for its generosity and support.  The lounge is an important communal space where residents meet, socialise and relax, so giving it a fresh new look makes a big difference to everyone who lives here.  It’s a lovely example of what can be achieved when our partners and staff come together with the community in mind.”  

The project is part of our wider commitment to delivering social value through our contracts, ensuring that local communities benefit directly from our partnerships and investment.  

Hankinson Whittle is a privately owned national property maintenance company with a diverse range of services delivered by experienced and qualified teams.  

Church Court offers retirement housing to residents aged 60 years and over.  It has an active Church Court Social Club that runs regular coffee afternoons and bingo and card evenings.
