We are over the moon and proud to announce that we have been successful in securing a share of government funding to improve the energy efficiency of over 990 homes.

£12.1million has been awarded through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 2 to retrofit 995 of our properties which will primarily be in East Lindsay, Malvern Hills, Market Harborough, Herefordshire and the Derbyshire Dales.

Platform is part of a consortium; The Midlands Net Zero Hub, led by Nottingham City Council, a huge £778 million has been offered to 107 projects for Wave 2.1 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.

Linda Colburn - Director of Asset Management & Sustainability

“We are extremely proud to have secured such a significant grant award. It confirms our commitment to playing a leading role in decarbonising housing stock across the Platform operating area and setting the pace for the sector.

This successful bid is the culmination of a lot of work – gathering data on our current performance, analysing it to identify our opportunities and mapping the interventions needed to improve energy performance in the Wave 2 properties. I look forward to turning this preparation into delivery and making a real difference to our customers. “

Stephen Edwards - Head of Sustainability

“This invaluable funding will help us to deliver real benefits for our customers through reduced energy bills and more comfortable homes.

“Here at Platform we are building our capacity to improve the energy efficiency of our homes in our drive to achieve a minimum EPC C for all our homes by 2030 and net zero by 2050.

“This grant provides us with a huge boost to make energy and carbon saving improvements at a time when the cost of living and damp and mould are presenting real challenges to the housing sector.”
