We proudly sponsored the Community Marquee at this year’s Worcester Show, held earlier this month, reinforcing our commitment to supporting vibrant, inclusive communities across the city.

The sponsorship, funded via our Diversity Grant and managed by the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion – or EDI – team, also enabled the organisation to provide a number of free tickets to customers.

Inside the Community Marquee, we were joined by a range of community groups representing diverse cultures and communities across Worcester, including Friends of Tolladine and Newtown Green, with whom we work closely throughout the year.  The event provided an ideal opportunity to showcase our services, connect with residents and address customer queries in person.  Colleagues from the Community Engagement, Property Care and Successful Tenancies teams were on hand to offer advice and support.

The Worcester Show, which attracts around 30,000 visitors, is one of the city’s most popular events and an important date in our calendar.

Chris Pinson-Bradley, our Community Engagement Manager said: “It was great to be part of the Worcester Show again this year.  The sun shone, people turned up in their thousands and it was fantastic to see the community come together.  We really value this event as an opportunity to connect with our customers face to face and celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of Worcester.  We were also delighted to welcome our corporate charity, the NSPCC, to join us in the marquee to share the incredible work they do every day.”

Representatives from the NCPCC enjoyed a thoroughly successful day, speaking to visitors about their services and engaging with families through their Talk PANTS resources.

Emma Grishin, NSPCC Schools Service Manager for the Midlands said: “We would like to thank Platform for the invitation to the Worcester Show.  It was a brilliant opportunity to showcase our services, including our work in local schools, and to connect with families in the community.  Events like this help us strengthen our partnership with Platform, whose support will enable us to reach even more children and families across Worcestershire and the Midlands.”

In the past year, the NSPCC has made a significant impact locally:

  • 14, 074 children in 67 Worcester schools took part in the Speak out. Stay safe. programme;
  • Around 1,400 children in Worcester accessed counselling sessions through Childline;
  • 376 referrals were made to local agencies in Worcester via the NSPCC Helpline.

With many of our customers living in Worcester, sponsoring the Worcester Show reflects our ongoing investment in the city and its people.  By supporting this major community event, we have helped bring people together, showcase local services and foster a sense of belonging.

The NSPCC is our official corporate charity for 2025/2026; since the announcement on 1 April 2025, colleagues have been rallying together to raise funds through a variety of creative and challenging activities.

Our partnership with the NSPCC reflects our wider commitment to social responsibility and community impact.  Every £4 raised could help answer a child’s call or message for help to Childline; £5 could help pay for a practitioner to answer a call to the NSPCC helpline.

The NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) has been fighting for every childhood and to prevent child abuse since 1884. Its mission is to protect children, prevent abuse, and support those who need it most. Platform Housing Group is proud to stand alongside it in its vital work.
