A number of former apprentices at Platform have had their hard work recognised with promotions to full time and permanent positions.
Platform Property Care – a subsidiary of Platform Housing Group – has welcomed Thomas Mills, Sam Cooper and Dan Reader into its workforce.
The three – two from Worcester and one from Halesowen - joined the company as apprentices in November 2020, studying part time at Herefordshire and Ludlow College.
Thomas Mills said: “I would thoroughly recommend working for PPC; it is such a great company to work for with everything in place should we come across any problems. One of the most rewarding things is the fact that I am making positive changes to people’s lives; there is no better feeling than that!”
Sam Cooper said: “All of us had Property Care recommended to us by family and friends and I am so glad they did! I feel really honoured to have a full time and permanent job that I thoroughly enjoy!”
Dan Reader said: “I loved my apprenticeship and it was the cherry on the top to pass my college course and be offered a job that is so rewarding.”
Adam Rudge, Head of Voids at Platform Property Care said : “There is no better feeling than supporting a young colleague through an apprenticeship programme and into permanent employment. Within the construction and maintenance industry there is currently a significant shortage of skilled tradespeople. The market is very competitive and the best way to secure our own future is to grow our own talent and invest in people that have the potential to build a long term career within our business. Whilst skilled and experienced new colleagues can bring energy and new ideas to the team, growing your own talent affords our business the opportunity for an apprentice to absorb the most up to date knowledge and training whilst also adopting the values of our business at the same time. This is a unique opportunity which is only aligned to an apprenticeship programme. We’d like to welcome them all onboard and wish them long and successful careers!”
All three of them passed their college courses with a distinction at the end of last year as well as an internal assessment.
Adam concluded : “Expanding our workforce helps us to continue to deliver services to our customers tailored to their needs. It also helps us with succession planning and, importantly, offering roles to people when job security is much needed. Team members need to be customer focused, methodical and thorough. These skills – and many more besides – are all in abundance in these young men and we are delighted to be part of their stories!”
