Young Person Award 2025 Winners
This year the Young Person Award has been presented to two outstanding winners; Isaac Winfield from Redditch, and Kara Mahon from Malvern.

Isaac Winfield
Isaac Winfield, a remarkable 13-year-old from Redditch, has been recognised at this year’s Community Heroes Awards for his outstanding efforts to tackle food insecurity. Isaac jointly received the Young Person Award for his inspiring initiative, Friends of Isaac, which now operates six food banks across Redditch, providing thousands of food parcels annually without referral requirements.
Isaac’s journey began in 2020 when he created a food bank on his family's driveway during the pandemic. His initiative quickly grew, driven by his compassion and determination to support those in need.
Chosen for his exceptional commitment, Isaac demonstrates the powerful impact young people can have on their communities through dedication and kindness.
Kara Mahon
Kara Mahon from Malvern has been honoured at this year’s Community Heroes Awards for her incredible journey of personal transformation and resilience. Facing homelessness and substance misuse, Kara has successfully turned her life around, becoming financially independent and actively pursuing her own home.
Her accomplishments include gaining several qualifications, completing her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, and securing employment as a catering assistant with Platform.
Chosen for her courage, determination, and inspiring personal growth, Kara is a powerful example of what young people can achieve despite challenging circumstances.
