There are so many ways to get involved as a Platform volunteer - from community gardening and events to helping others in our Retirement Living schemes. Whether you’re looking to build skills, meet new people, or give something back, we’ll support you every step of the way.
Why volunteer with us?
Volunteering with Platform is a great way to:

We’ll provide full training, ongoing support, and cover reasonable out-of-pocket expenses like travel – just speak to your named support officer to find out more.
What roles are available?
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Community gardens and allotments
- Litter picks and neighbourhood clean-ups
- Supporting social sessions in Retirement Living schemes
- Helping with digital skills and drop-ins
- Community events and engagement activities
Roles are flexible and matched to your interests, time and availability.
What support will I get?
We’ll make sure you feel ready and supported:
- A friendly induction and site tour
- Your own named Platform support officer (who will be your main contact) for regular check-ins
- A training plan tailored to your role
- Ongoing guidance, feedback and updates on how you’re making a difference
You’ll also receive a Platform volunteer badge and advice on what to wear for your role.
