We've been shortlisted in a top Midland's property award

We have been shortlisted in the following categories in this year’s Insider Midlands Residential Property Awards:
- The Social Housing Award;
- Small Residential Development of the Year.
The awards – which are organised and delivered by Insider Media, the UK’s most successful regional B2B media company – aim to recognise, champion and celebrate the cream of residential development in the region, highlighting the importance of residential led development in driving the area’s economy.
The winners will be unveiled at a ceremony on Wednesday 25 June at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club.
Paula Heatley, our New Homes Delivery Director said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted in these two categories alongside so many other inspiring organisations. It’s an honour to be recognised and we celebrate the efforts of all the finalists and the work they do in delivering residential developments.”
Our award entry focused on the development at Cookley Works in Brierley Hill in the West Midlands. Cookley Works is a development of 71 homes – 37 for affordable rent and 34 as shared ownership – built on a five acre brownfield site in partnership with Lovell Construction in Dudley. All of the homes are energy efficient thanks to a £1million investment by the West Midlands Combined Authority or WMCA. The site had stood derelict since the last business closed there in 2007, ending more than 150 years of steel industry on the site. The landowners at the time, Tat Steel, sold the site to Lovell for £4.5million in 2021. That meant for nearly 14 years, the site stood as a blight on the local area and its people. Now it’s providing attractive, vital housing for the area which residents can feel proud to call home.
Paula concluded: “Being shortlisted in these awards acknowledges our firm commitment to deliver on our targets to provide attractive, vital housing; it is also heartwarming to know that residents at Cookley Works are proud to call the estate their home.”
The awards will celebrate their tenth anniversary this year.
