THE Droitwich Wellbeing Hub, based in the heart of the Westlands community, continue to provide local support for children, young people and adults thanks to a donation of £5,000 from Platform Housing Groups Community Chest.

The funding has supported the Hub with essential running costs and help with ongoing counselling sessions which are important for enriching many local people’s lives.

The sessions support mental health which is having a positive impact on training and employment, tenancy sustainability and they are helping to improve children’s attendance at school, reducing the risk of exclusion and improved relationships at home.

Pip Cavilla from the Wellbeing Hub said: “Droitwich Wellbeing Hub provides locally based early intervention mental health and wellbeing support. We have been open for two years and have seen a steady uptake in the services we provide at the hub which include our face-to-face counselling service as well as groups and courses. We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company who are reliant on funding and donations so that everyone can access support for their mental health without the barrier of finances stopping them. We would like to send a huge thank you to Platform Housing who have been a great supporter of the Hub since we opened, and their generous donation has really helped with the running costs of our project.”

Marion Duffy, Platform Housing Group’s Chief Operations Officer said, “It’s great to know that we are able to help our local communities and the community chest funding offers that opportunity. Groups such as this are fantastic for so many people and have such a far-reaching impact.”

Platform customers and local charities, clubs and other not-for-profit organisations can apply for Community Chest Funding if their work or project directly benefits local Platform customers.
