Our colleagues joined forces with local residents and councillors towards the end of last year to carry out a major community clean up at St Clement’s Close in Sutton on Sea, Lincolnshire.

Our team were joined by local ward councillor Cllr Watson, spent the day litter picking, clearing rubbish and engaging with residents to help reset and restore the communal space.

Despite wet and windy conditions, more than a skip full of waste was removed before midday, with extra trips made to keep momentum going.

Rebecca Dawson, our Localities Operations Manager said: “The impact was immediate and the feedback from residents has been incredibly positive; it was fantastic to see people not just welcoming the support but also getting involved and even discussing how to keep things looking their best in the future.”

The day is being hailed as a successful example of placemaking, building stronger community relationships with teams collaborating across services to make meaningful change.

The event involved our colleagues from housing, repairs and community engagement teams, demonstrating how joined up working can deliver real results for customers.
