We have delivered more than 120 new affordable homes across Gloucestershire as national rankings rise

We completed 122 new affordable homes across Gloucestershire during 2025/26 as part of our strongest delivery performance in more than five years.  

The homes formed part of a record year which saw us complete 1380 homes across England, helping us climb from 10th to eighth place nationally in Inside Housing’s annual Biggest Builders Survey.  

Across Gloucestershire, we:  

• Completed 122 new homes; 
• Started work on 557 more; 
• Delivered 66 affordable rent homes; 
• Delivered 51 Shared Ownership homes; 
• Completed five social rent homes; 
• Started 199 Shared Ownership homes; 
• Started 292 social rent homes.

Homes have been delivered across a range of tenures, helping first time buyers onto the housing ladder while also increasing the supply of affordable rented homes for local families.  

One such development is Ellwood Road in Coleford, an £11 million affordable housing development that will provide much needed homes for local people.  

We are delivering 47 affordable homes at the development in partnership with Edenstone Group, Forest of Dean District Council and Homes England.  

The development comprises 24 homes for affordable rent, 19 shared ownership homes and four Rent to Buy properties, with all homes expected to be occupied by November.  

Supported by £4 million of funding from Homes England through our strategic partnership, every property has been designed to be energy efficient and future ready, with gas free heating provided by air source heat pumps.  

We currently own and manage more than 51,000 homes across the Midlands and expect to complete approximately 1600 further homes during 2026/27.  

The Inside Housing Biggest Builders Survey is an annual ranking of housing associations based on the number of homes completed during the previous financial year.
