We have been shortlisted for a national Green Fleet Award
We have been shortlisted for a prestigious National Sustainability Award in recognition of our ambitious programme to decarbonise our vehicle fleet and reduce carbon emissions across our operations.
We have been named as a finalist in the Green Fleet Award category, which celebrates organisations leading the way in creating cleaner, more sustainable vehicle fleets.
The nomination recognises our long term investment in electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and driver engagement, alongside innovative technology that is helping reduce emissions while improving efficiency.
Our fleet is responsible for the largest proportion of our organisation’s operational carbon emissions, making it a key focus of our sustainability strategy.
Over the past year, we have continued our transition towards a fully electric fleet by 2035, introducing more electric vehicles, expanding charging infrastructure and supporting colleagues to embrace new technology.
To date, we have:
- Installed 32 electric vehicle chargers at our two main offices;
- Installed 44 home chargers for colleagues, with more being added every week;
- Begun installing a further 18 chargers across six Lincolnshire locations, creating a dedicated charging network to support electric vans;
- Introduced 58 fully electric vehicles, with another 15 due to join the fleet;
- Added 45 plug in hybrid vehicles, with a further 34 on order.
The results have already been significant.
The move to electric vehicles has helped avoid an estimated 257 tonnes of carbon dioxide, while the introduction of Lightfoot driver technology has reduced emissions by a further 653 tonnes through safer and more fuel efficient driving.
We have also achieved almost £305,000 in fuel savings, reduced vehicle breakdowns and downtime, and improved the overall driving experience for colleagues.

“Reducing our environmental impact is incredibly important, but we’ve also wanted to make sure the transition works for our colleagues and supports the services we provide to our customers every day.
“By investing in charging infrastructure, embracing new technology and working closely with colleagues throughout the process, we’ve shown that it’s possible to reduce emissions, improve efficiency and deliver significant financial savings at the same time.
“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far and remain committed to achieving our ambition of operating a fully electric fleet by 2035.”
Our sustainability programme has combined investment in infrastructure with colleague engagement, including driver training, demonstration vehicles and the introduction of Lightfoot telematics technology. More than 90 per cent of our drivers are now achieving Green status for safe and efficient driving.
The National Sustainability Awards recognise organisations demonstrating excellence in environmental leadership and innovation across a range of sectors.
Winners will be announced at the National Sustainability Awards ceremony in London on 8 October 2026.
