We have once again joined forces with community partners to bring a series of summer pop up events to neighbourhoods across Worcester, offering children and families the chance to play, connect and get involved in local life.

The events, running throughout August, aim to bring play opportunities to areas where access is often limited, making use of open spaces in the heart of communities.  This year’s locations include Ashford Close in Dines Green, Dent Close and Cranham Drive flats.

Paul Edwards, our Community Engagement Officer said: “The pop up events are all about partners coming together to provide play opportunities for young people.  These sessions offer a fantastic chance for families to take part in free activities right on their doorstep, while connecting with local services and each other.”

The sessions are supported by Worcester City Council, Worcestershire Family Hub, Play Worcester and Action for Children.  This year, Worcestershire County Council will also be on hand to talk to residents about upcoming changes to waste collection services, including the introduction of food waste recycling next year.

The programme is as follows:

  • Friday 22 August – Ashford Close, Dines Green, WR2 5GX, 1.30pm until 3.00pm;
  • Tuesday 26 August – Dent Close, 11.00am until 12.30pm
  • Thursday 28 August – Cranham Drive flats, 11.00am until 12.30pm.

Please note, events may be cancelled in the event of bad weather.
