We've been successful in The Community Impact category in the 2024 Building Communities Awards.

The awards recognise and champion professionalism, excellence and innovation within the housing and construction community.

The winners were unveiled at a ceremony on Friday 15 March at Leicester’s Athena.

Our award entry focussed on the positive impact we've had on our communities and the notable benefits for local people and their surrounding environments.  Examples included:

  • The 2022 launch of our Customer and Community Engagement strategy which reinforces our commitment to make sure the customer remains at the very heart of the organisation;

  • Our Communities Connected initiative which includes a range of community events, neighbourhood clear-ups, inclusive fitness activities, environmental initiatives, community safety promotion and digital inclusion sessions; in 2022/2023 we provided 245 activities and engaged with more than 2500 customers and colleagues;
  • Our Community Chest fund – managed by our Customer Voice Panel - which supports charitable organisations, voluntary groups and clubs to make a difference in their community;

  • Our Christmas Kindness campaign which provides funding to community groups who support those in need over the Christmas period with donations and events;

  • Our Community Heroes Awards which recognise the amazing work of our customers and community partners.

Lisa Fairlie, Director of Housing Operations at Platform Housing Group said : “We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised at this year’s Building Communities Awards; it is so well deserved for those teams who have worked on these projects.  The award confirms our ethos which is to ensure that all of our customers, no matter their location, feel part of their community and can prosper and be proud of where they live.  It also acknowledges our strong commitment to place our customers at the very heart of what we do. Thank you to all of those who make this happen on a daily basis!”

The awards are organised by EEM, a not for profit procurement consortium offering cost and efficiency savings for the public sector across England and Wales.
