Platform development figures reflect commitment to keep building homes

We have released our development results from the previous financial year, revealing record-breaking numbers.

As a group we started work on 1,534 homes which is the most the group have ever achieved in a 12-month period. Close behind that figure was our completions for the year, coming in at 1,202. 

Looking further ahead, the Land and Partnerships team secured contracts for 2,330 homes across 27 different sites across the region.

Within this next year, the group will develop 113 new homes at Bishops Cleeve in Cheltenham and start on 270 homes at Perrybrook in Gloucester along with our biggest site to date in Nottingham, where over 300 units will be built. Many of these homes will be gas free, part of our strategy for dwellings we will develop into 2025.

The market remains volatile, especially when it comes to securing land but thanks to some fantastic work by our new business team, solutions were found and spades have gone into the ground on key sites across the region. We’re already working hard on securing even more sites in the next 12 months and continue to seek partners in all aspects of development to join us on this journey.”

We are also pleased to have found success with the development team’s customer care arm, focusing on collaboration between the dedicated quality team and defects department for new customers. With the New Homes team, customer satisfaction sits at 80% following strong relationships with developers that have led to more defects being corrected earlier in the post-move in phase.

Earlier in the year, Platform were named in the top 10 of providers that have delivered social rented accommodation* in the country and we continue with our strategic partnership with Homes England. We delivered 100% of the projected starts and completions pledged to the Government body, a figure that has risen to 120% for the coming 12 months.
