Our Cookley Works development has been shortlisted for a national housing award

One of our landmark affordable housing developments in Brierley Hill has been shortlisted in the Inside Housing Development Awards 2025.
Cookley Works has been named a finalist in the Best Affordable Housing Development category recognising its success in transforming a derelict industrial site into a thriving residential community.
The £8.2million scheme, completed in September 2024 in partnership with Lovell Partnerships, with support from West Midlands Combined Authority and Homes England, has delivered 71 high quality 100 per cent affordable homes. They include a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership, helping to meet significant local housing need.
Built on the five acre former site of Cookley Ironworks, which lay derelict for 14 years, the development demonstrates how brownfield first regeneration can provide both attractive design and long term community benefit. With features such as glass balconies, tree lined streets and a tenure blind layout, Cookley Works challenges perceptions of what affordable housing can look like.
Paula Heatley, our New Homes Delivery Director said: “We are proud that Cookley Works has been recognised nationally for the difference it is making. This project is not just about delivering homes, it’s about placemaking, heritage and building communities that will thrive for generations. The shortlisting is a testament to the dedication of our team and our partners who worked tirelessly to make this vision a reality.”
The Inside Housing Development Awards celebrate the very best residential developments across the UK, highlighting motivation, partnership and impact. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday 25 November at The Intercontinental O2 in London.
