We have announced Macmillan Cancer Support as our new corporate charity partner for the next two years following a colleague vote across the organisation.

More than 160 colleagues took part in the final vote, choosing Macmillan from a shortlist of three charities.  The partnership will see colleagues come together to raise funds and awareness in support of people living with cancer and their families.

Macmillan Cancer Support has been helping people affected by cancer for more than 100 years, providing practical, emotional and financial support from the point of diagnosis and throughout treatment and recovery.

The announcement follows a record breaking year of fundraising for our previous charity partner, the NSPCC, where colleagues raised more than £51,000 through a range of activities and events.

Clare Durnin, our Chief People and Excellence Officer said: “We’re really proud to be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support as our new charity partner.  The work they do makes an extraordinary difference to people living with cancer and their families, providing care, advice and reassurance at some of the most challenging times.

“The level of engagement from colleagues throughout the nomination and voting process was fantastic to see and reflects how strongly people feel about supporting causes that matter to them personally and professionally.

“Over the next two years, we’re looking forward to bringing colleagues together to raise funds, raise awareness and support Macmillan in continuing its vital work.”

Kate McGrory, Relationship Fundraising Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be chosen as Platform Housing Group’s charity partner for the next two years.  Together we can make a meaningful difference, ensuring every person with cancer gets the support they need, whoever and wherever they are.

“We’re incredibly grateful for Platform’s support and are excited to see what we can achieve together through fundraising, awareness raising and colleague engagement over the course of the partnership.”

The new partnership will officially launch with our bike ride in June 2026, a two day, 200 mile fundraising challenge across Wales and the Midlands.  Colleagues will cycle from Aberystwyth to Worcester on the first day before completing a 100 mile Cotswold loop on day two.

Colleagues nominate and vote for a corporate charity partner every two years, supporting organisations that align with the values of the business and the communities it serves.

We have a proud history of taking fundraising to the next level, skydiving, cycling hundreds of miles, running marathons, hosting craft sales and stepping up to challenges of all kinds in our own time.

Our volunteer Fundraising Committee is at the forefront of organising and supporting fundraising efforts throughout the year.
