One of our colleagues has been recognised at this year’s Great British Fleet Awards, highlighting our commitment to safety, sustainability and innovation.

John Parker, our Fleet Risk and Compliance Manager has been crowned Fleet Safety Superstar at the awards ceremony earlier this month.

The award recognises John’s work to improve driver safety and reduce risk across our fleet.  Over the past year, he has successfully introduced a new driver management app, now used by around 700 operatives, helping to improve driving behaviours and compliance across a large, mobile workforce.

He has also led the rollout of a new grey fleet management programme, ensuring that more than 1500 colleagues who drive for business purposes are operating safely, legally and in line with regulations.

John said: “I’m really proud to have won this award.  Improving driver safety and reducing risk is something I’m passionate about and it’s been great to see such strong engagement from colleagues across the organisation.  This is very much a team effort and reflects the importance we place on keeping our people safe.”

Matthew Neale, our Head of Fleet said: “It’s fantastic to see John recognised at a national level.  His work has had a real impact across the organisation and he has shown real leadership from embedding new ways of working and delivering measurable results.  The award is thoroughly deserved and reflect the commitment, innovation and expertise John brings to Platform every day.”
