Platform has donated £2,000 to Jigsaw Foodbank to enable them to provide special Christmas food parcels and gifts to families in Matlock and the surrounding areas who are facing significant challenges this festive season.

Our £60,000 annual Christmas Kindness Campaign will see Platform make a number of donations to help support food banks, charities and organisations who support local people and families continuing to struggle to make ends meet.

Jigsaw Foodbank, part of the Church in the Peak, operates as a vital charity, offering year-round emergency assistance to individuals and families in need. Their support takes the form of crisis food parcels and ongoing weekly food supplies for an agreed period.

Platform’s donation will ensure that these provisions extend to include the festive season, bringing joy and relief to those struggling to make ends meet, in the form of food parcels and presents.

The donation was presented by Platform’s Customer Voice Panel member, Megan Morgan who said, “The volunteers and staff at the Jigsaw Foodbank work hard to deliver much needed support to the community, it is evident that they are passionate about helping those going through a tough time. As a customer of Platform Housing I am glad that the money donated by Platform Housing Group will ensure that those using the foodbank can have a more enjoyable Christmas.”

Marion Duffy, Chief Operations Officer at Platform Housing Group added, “The organisations we are helping as part of our annual Christmas Kindness Campaign provide vital support services to customers in the heart of our local communities.

“When the cost of living continues to be a daily challenge it’s great that Platform can help spread a little festive cheer to families and children who need a little extra help this Christmas and throughout the year.”

Jigsaw Foodbank Coordinator, Ruth Longfellow said: “The Jigsaw team would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in the Platform Christmas Kindness Campaign for the incredible donation of £2,000 which has been used to buy gifts for all of our clients.

“We have been able to provide every child with age appropriate toys and presents and also give every adult a good quality toiletry gift set. These gifts are very much appreciated and will certainly bring smiles to many faces on Christmas Day!
