Colleagues roll up their sleeves to support a Staffordshire domestic abuse charity
Colleagues from our Procurement and Lettings teams spent a day volunteering with Pathway Project, a domestic abuse charity supporting people across Lichfield, Tamworth and the wider Staffordshire area.
The team swapped their desks for overalls, paintbrushes and rollers to help decorate part of the charity’s premises, transforming a tired-looking space into a brighter, more welcoming environment for the staff and volunteers who work there.
Pathway Project provides support to survivors of domestic abuse, including people living in communities where we have a significant number of homes. The charity has also supported survivors who are our customers, as well as people who have gone on to secure accommodation with ourselves.
The volunteering day follows the development of close links between ourselves and Pathway Project, as we both share a commitment to supporting people affected by domestic abuse and helping them move forward safely.
Tracey Silk, our Community Engagement Officer said: “We were really pleased to be able to support Pathway in a practical way. The work the charity does for people affected by domestic abuse is incredibly important, and we know that having a welcoming and positive environment can make a real difference for the people who use and work from the space.
“Our colleagues were proud to give their time and energy to help refresh the premises, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Pathways.”
Sam Booth, CEO of Pathway Project, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the team from Platform Housing Group for giving their time to help improve our work space. Their hard work has made a real difference, creating a brighter and more uplifting space for our staff and volunteers.
“Partnerships like this are hugely valuable to Pathway Project. They help us continue supporting survivors of domestic abuse across Lichfield, Tamworth and Staffordshire, and we really appreciate the ongoing support from Platform Housing Group. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Chris, Tracey and the team.”
