Barclay’s volunteers transform Crofton Gardens in one day makeover

We welcomed a dedicated team of 30 colleagues from Barclays UK Corporate Bank to retirement homes at Crofton Gardens in Birmingham last month.
Thanks to their hard work and generosity, Crofton Gardens communal facilities and outdoor spaces received a much welcomed makeover. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to decorate the residents lounge, kitchen, two toilets and entrance hall. Outside, they refreshed two garden pagodas, eight benches and even gave the shed a new lease of life.
The transformation was warmly received by residents, who now have a refreshed and welcoming environment to enjoy.
Chris Pinson-Bradley, our Community Engagement Manager said: “This event was a fantastic example of what can be achieved through meaningful corporate partnerships. We’re incredibly grateful to the team at Barclays for their time, energy and community spirit, it really has made a huge difference to our residents.”
Michelle Murray, Relationship Director at Barclays Social Housing Team said: “It was brilliant to see the Barclays Social Housing Team come together and make such a difference at Crofton Gardens. The energy and care they brought really transformed the space for residents and we were delighted to be a part of it and support Platform.”
Crofton Gardens offers retirement living for those aged 55 years and over. Residents enjoy regular social activities including coffee mornings, day trips and fish and chip suppers.
