We are spreading some Christmas Kindness
From Matlock to Malvern; Louth to Leicestershire, community groups, foodbanks and local charities across
the country are set to benefit from some Christmas kindness, courtesy of Platform.
As part of our commitment to creating strong and successful communities, we have dished out over £28,000 to 28 groups right across the country. The cash will be used by local charities to help make sure vulnerable families who may otherwise have gone without, have what they need to make the best of the festive season.
Marion Duffy, our Chief Operations Officer said: “ We know that for many of our customers and the communities that they live in, Christmas is a struggle. We recognise that and also the fact that our customers have many needs that go beyond the homes we provide. Through our programme of festive donations to local charities and community groups, we are hoping to make a real and tangible difference to festive lives.
“We want as many families as possible to benefit and to have something to make their Christmas a truly memorable one.”
The programme of donations have been made from our £1.4 million Wellbeing Fund which offers individual Platform customers fast and flexible support with cash to help cover the cost of food, essential items such as school uniforms, energy and utility costs as well as helping to bridge the gap between a benefit application and first payment. The Fund was established in April 2021 and has to date distributed over £1 million. Read more about it here.
