Platform Housing Group has completed work on four new homes in different parts of Worcester. Both developments – which were delivered under the same contract - offer affordable homes for shared ownership.
Both schemes – situated in Turrall Street and Moor Street – cost a total of £734,011.85, and were made possible by funding from Homes England and Platform Housing Group funds.
Those involved in the new development include the developer Tricas Construction, employer’s agent Fellows Construction Consultants, engineer CSG Engineers and architect and prinicipal designer and party wall consultant, DJD Architects.
Both sites were former garage sites with works commencing in May 2020 and completing in March 2021 with all homes already sold.
Ashley Round, Project Manager at Platform Housing Group said: “These two dilapidated garage sites have been demolished and 4 new affordable homes have been built, allowing people to purchase their first homes via the Shared Ownership Programme. The sites now look fresh and new and have vastly improved the street scenes.”
Both sites are well positioned within Worcester; Moor Street is located in the city centre close to the train station. Turrall Street is in close proximity to the open spaces of Gheluvelt Park and a 15 minute walk from both the city centre and the train station.
Ashley concluded: “Both developments have been really positive for the areas, helping people to get their feet on the property ladder. We would like to thank all the residents in the local areas for their continued support throughout both projects.”
Platform Housing Group’s operating area is from Herefordshire in the West to the Lincolnshire coast in the East, and from the Derbyshire Dales in the North to the Cotswolds in the South.
